Robo legs
Cameron Clapp is a nineteen year old guy who likes wearing fashionable baggy shorts, trainers and t- shirts. People can see posters with his big smile all over America. However, he is not a model or an actor. He is special because, although he is an amputee, he leads a normal, sporty life. He had a very seroius accident in 2001 and lost his right arm and both legs above the knee. After a long time, and after trying many possibilities, he found the perfect legs, the C legs. “It hasn’t been easy at all” Cameron says.
Although his positive attitude has been an important factor, he also comments that his recovery is the result of the love and support of his family and his old friends and also of his new friends: other amputees. “My life has changed considerably. Since my accident I’ve learned to walk again, and I’ve become interested in disabled sports. I’m running and swimming. But it’s still difficult. I’ve also participated in a golf tournament. It’s been my greatest challenge. And I’d like to try other sports, too”.
Cameron Clapp has started a webpage because he wants to share his experience. At the end of his site he writes: “Thank you for visiting my site! Feel free to send me an e-mail and say hi”. So here it is: www.cameronclapp.com
