Song: Another day in paradise - Phil Collins

1 PRE - LISTENING

Aim: to introduce the topic

1.1 - Pre teach vocabulary: someone, somewhere, something, anyone, anywhere, anything, no one, nowhere, nothing.

The T provides sts with sentences containing these words and then asks them: Which of these words refer to people/ things/ places? Then sts do another exercises in which they match the words any, some and no to their meanings

1.2 - Predict content: The T writes the title of the song and the singer on the bb. She asks sts what they think the song is about and if they know the singer. Sts write 5 words they think will appear in the song.

2 WHILE - LISTENING

Aim: To provede the context

2.1 - Listening without lyrics: Sts listen the song to check if their predictions were correct. They do this without the lyrics.

2.2 - Choose and complete the song: Sts are provided with the lyrics. They listen to the song again in order to choose the correct options and to complete the blank spaces.

3 POST - LISTENING

Aim: to integrate skills.

3.1 - Analize the song: Sts work in groups. The T gives them some questions to discuss. Who is the woman in the song? What help does she want? Who is she asking help from? Does she get the help? What is the man's attitute towards the woman? What is the song about?

3.2 - Whole class discussion: Each group express their own ideas about the previous questions. The asks them other questions for them to say their opinions: What is your opinion about beggars? Do you think it is bad to give to beggars? Why? What things do you give to them?
